The Kaaterskill Clove of the Catskills is the cradle of American art. It was here that Thomas Cole, a budding artist from England, began painting the Catskill landscape, adding deeply moving tones and a flourish of divinity to the rolling hills, clouded skies, and majestic waterfalls. Today, you can experience the mountains just as Cole did, in all their untamed beauty.
