Angel Lau, a Newburgh-based percussionist, draws on his Peruvian roots, classical training, and diverse global influences to create dynamic, cross-cultural rhythms. A performer with Ephrat Asherie's Odeon, he’s appeared at top festivals nationwide and currently accompanies dance at Bard College, while collaborating with acclaimed artists including Souleymane Badolo, Anaïs Maviel, and Wallace Roney Jr.
Faraway Ghost x Sunken Cages is the electrifying duo of DC-based Iranian multi-instrumentalist Kamyar Arsani and NYC-based Indian-born drummer/producer Sunken Cages, fusing Sufi mysticism, Persian and Mumbai street rhythms, and experimental electronics into a unique form of digital folk, signed to France’s Akuphone Records.
DJ Neva Wartell is an ethnomusicologist and cultural activist whose deep, wide-ranging sets span African, Caribbean, Latin American, Maghreb, Middle Eastern, and Roma musical traditions.
