Opu, a young boy in Bengal, dreams of becoming an elephant trainer. When he befriends Janu, a gentle Asian elephant, their bond marks the beginning of an extraordinary journey—one that will span decades and continents.
As they follow separate paths, both face incredible challenges—fearsome encounters, treacherous seas, and unfamiliar worlds.
Years later, Opu, now an old man, learns that the world-famous magician Harry Houdini is set to make an elephant disappear live on stage in New York City. Could it be Janu, his long-lost friend, so far from home? Determined to find out, Opu embarks on one final journey into the unknown.
