Catskill Winter Solstice Stroll: "Return of the Light!"

Join us in the Catskill Village on December 21st from 5pm-8pm for the third annual Winter Solstice Stroll, a magical celebration of the year’s longest night and the return of the sun. Stroll along Main Street, transformed into a pedestrian-only wonderland illuminated by twinkling lights and adorned with seasonal charm.

Explore holiday shops and savor the offerings of local restaurants with family and friends alike as live music fills the air and warm refreshments keep the chill at bay. Reflect on the transition from darkness to light, embrace the spirit of renewal, and send your wishes for happiness and prosperity in 2025.

• Procession on Main Street starting at 5 PM, led by Gaia the Earth Goddess and the Green Man, featuring:

  • Witches Along the Hudson dancers

  • The Pokingbrook Morris Dance Team

  • Fire performer, stilt walker, and jugglers

  • Bell ringers, drummers, and ukulele players

  • Costumed merrymakers

• Twelve Fire Pits lining Main Street with a central Solstice ceremony celebrating the Return of the Light.

• Live Performances at various venues, including:

  • Dave Woodin’s Hardwood Band at Left Bank Ciders

  • Travis Shook at High Rock Home

  • Ryder Cooley at Citiot

  • Lex Gray at Chemistry Wine Bar 

• Kids' Activities:

  • Face painting

  • Cookie decorating

  • Holiday card making

  • Marshmallow roasting over the fire pits

• CREATE Center Activities:

  • First Floor: Craft stations hosted by CREATE members

  • Second Floor: Mini Tarot Readings by Kate Laity ($20 for a 3-card, 15-minute session; sign-up required)
