Even the best garden tools wear down over time, making tasks harder. Pruners may cut raggedly, shovels struggle to dig, and hoes lose their edge against weeds. Regular cleaning and sharpening restore their function and extend their life. While some use grinders, a simple hand file and household supplies often do the job. This presentation covers essential garden tools and demonstrates easy sharpening and maintenance techniques.

Richard Kilberg, a longtime Red Hook gardener and Ulster County Master Gardener, shares insights from 35 years of tending kitchen gardens, orchards, flower beds, and a woodlot.
