Sunday, March 30th - 2 PM in the Vedder Research Library
Before the Boston Tea Party in 1773, the battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775, and the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, citizens across the thirteen colonies engaged in political discourse that led to the Revolution and an independent nation. While the Founding Fathers are well known, what about the women Patriots?
In the 1700s, politics was largely for men, but this year’s Women’s History Month Lecture by Dr. Howard will highlight the contributions of women who influenced revolutionary political ideas and supported independence. As Abigail Adams urged her husband in 1776, we must “Remember the Ladies.”
The Greene County Historical Society established the Women’s History Lectures in honor of Dr. Olga Santora, a dedicated educator and advocate for women’s aspirations.
The event is FREE and open to the public.
