The Social Salon: A New Year Gathering @ Thomas Cole

Celebrate the season with a delightful afternoon of creativity, refreshments, and history. Join us at the new Cole Center for winter wreath-making, complete with all supplies provided, while enjoying beverages and snacks.

Explore Thomas Cole’s legacy with Special Wintertime Tours of the Main House and Studio for just $5 per person at 1 PM and 3 PM. Tour sign-ups are available in person only at the Cole Center.

Sip on custom teas inspired by the historic property from Stinging Nettles Apothecary, and savor Left Bank’s Community Cider, crafted from pears grown on-site (available for purchase, 21+). Shop local vendors, sample sweet treats from Freihofer’s, and experience the warmth of the Cole Center as you ring in the New Year.

  • Self-guided access to Thomas Cole’s Studio in the Storehouse
  • Winter wreath-making (supplies provided)
  • Tea sampling from Stinging Nettles Apothecary

Thomas Cole National Historic Site

The Thomas Cole National Historic Site is the former home of Hudson River School of Art founder, Thomas Cole. Located in the village of Catskill, the house, called Cedar Grove, and Cole's studio are open for tours, events, and workshops throughout the year.
