Centuries ago, Lunaapee communities followed the seasons, migrating to where the land provided most—fishing in spring, farming in summer, hunting in autumn, and storytelling in winter.

Join ethnoecologist Justin Wexler of Wild Hudson Valley for a seasonal walk exploring local native history, ecology, and folklore. Learn about the Hudson Valley’s indigenous cultures, flora, fauna, and ecosystems through their languages and traditions. A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, Justin has spent decades studying regional Algonquian languages, history, and ethnoecology. He holds degrees from Marlboro and Bard College and is dedicated to sharing his knowledge of the natural world and its original inhabitants.
