Thomas Cole’s Colors: A "What is Color?" Book Celebration & Pigment Party

Join artist Steven Weinberg for a Thomas Cole-inspired celebration of his new book, What is Color?, in the Storehouse at the Thomas Cole National Historic Site on Saturday, November 9, from 11am–12pm.

Enjoy a book reading from the author and explore Thomas Cole's ideas on color followed by a hands-on pigment-making and coloring activity with the artist. What is Color? is available for purchase at the Site’s Cole Center.

This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome and families are encouraged to attend.

Thomas Cole National Historic Site

The Thomas Cole National Historic Site is the former home of Hudson River School of Art founder, Thomas Cole. Located in the village of Catskill, the house, called Cedar Grove, and Cole's studio are open for tours, events, and workshops throughout the year.
