With prompts ranging from the everyday to the wildly absurd, we’ll push past creative barriers to write from intuition and imagination. There’s no final product—just the spark of a poem, novel, play, or something entirely unexpected. Come ready to surprise yourself.

Welcome Our New Instructor, Seth McNeill!
We’re excited to introduce Seth McNeill, a playwright and theatre artist with a unique journey—from being homeschooled across various red states (including an ill-fated attempt at emu farming) to making his mark in the theatre world. Seth’s plays, including That Weird Troubled Boy, Sad Lonely People, Bastard, Red Pill White Rabbit, we're all athletes, and Bullet, have been developed and presented at venues such as the Ancram Center for the Arts, Valdez Theatre Conference, Samuel French OOB Festival, Fresh Ground Pepper, and many more. His work has also been recognized as a semi-finalist for the O’Neill, the Shakespeare’s New Contemporaries Prize, and Primary Stages ESPA Drills, with pieces published in Smith & Kraus’ Best 10-Minute Plays and Clockhouse Journal.
Beyond writing, Seth has contributed as a script reader and dramaturg for Theatre for a New Audience and as an educator at Barrington Stage and Hunter College, where he earned his Master’s in Theatre. He was a key figure in Amios NYC’s Shotz play festival and is an active member of Howl Playwrights.
We’re thrilled to have Seth join us—welcome aboard!
