Mountain Clove Run

Some of the highest peaks in the Great Northern Catskills come into view as you ascend into the mountains on this 73.3-mile round-trip route. The Mountain Clove Run offers incredible landscape views and a drive-by glimpse of Kaaterskill Falls. The road's curves and twisties will test your driving skills and add to the excitement of this ride.

For a closer look at Kaaterskill Falls, turn off Route 23A onto Route 18 (North Lake Road), then take a right onto Laurel House Road. A short 0.25-mile hike will bring you to the Kaaterskill Falls Viewing Platform, offering a spectacular view of the falls and Kaaterskill Clove.

Be sure to stop at the Five State Lookout on Route 23, where, on a clear day, you can see the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Green Mountains of Vermont, the Berkshires of Massachusetts, the Helderbergs of New York, and the Connecticut Valley.

For dining and shopping, stop in downtown Catskill, Tannersville and Windham.
