Bastion Falls

Bastion Falls marks the trailhead to the trail to Kaaterskill Falls. It is located in Haines Falls along Route 23A, and is one of the most popular hiking trails in the Catskill Mountains. The hike from Bastion Falls to Kaaterskill Falls is ideal for beginners and should take approximately 30 minutes. 

Trail Parking: 

Please be advised that there is no parking on Route 23A to access the falls.  You must park at the Laurel House Lane parking area or Scutt Road parking area.  You can also access the Kaaterskill Trolley for $10.00 per day for drop off and pick up to and from the falls as well as other convenient stops between Tannersville and Palenville.
