Nature preserve with self guided tours on nature trails along the Hudson River. 

The Cohotate Preserve is a scenic nature preserve along the Hudson River, offering self-guided tours on interpretive trails that highlight birds, wildlife, and diverse forest habitats. Open year-round, visitors can enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and wildlife viewing while exploring tidal wetlands, rolling hills, and riverfront access. The preserve is home to an Environmental Field Station, supporting education and research with a lab and classroom. Picnic on the remains of an ice house foundation at the river’s edge, or watch for bald eagles and great blue herons from one of several observation platforms.
