Laughter Comes to the Catskills

Get ready to laugh your way through a fun-filled weekend in the scenic Great Northern Catskills. The Catskills Comedy Festival brings together top comedic talent from across the country for an unforgettable weekend of stand-up, improv, workshops, alt comedy, parties and more.

Comedy legends and soon-to-be legends perform at a variety of unique venues in the Great Northern Catskills for three days in October. The 2024 event has now passed, so check back with us soon to discover and plan for the 2025 event! Read more about this year's event below.

From the cozy Avalon Lounge to the newly renovated Foreland Bookhouse event space, the Catskill Comedy Festival offers comedy fans an unparalleled experience combining laughter, entertainment, and the beauty of the Catskills.

“We are thrilled to bring world-class comedy to the Catskills, the incubator for American stand-up comedy starting in the mid-20th century,” said Robbie Chafitz, co-founder of the festival with Stephan Bradicich. “This festival is a celebration of both comedy and the creative energy that thrives in the Catskills. Our goal is to bring great affordable entertainment to the community while raising money for free youth comedy workshops and driving audiences to our charming Main Street. ”

Whether you’re a Catskills local or visiting from afar, the festival offers the perfect fall escape. In between laughs, guests can enjoy the region’s wide range of activities, including hiking and other outdoor adventures, shopping in the area's many charming, historic towns, dining, and sightseeing, making this the ideal weekend getaway for comedy lovers.
